About Us

About DebitCue

Independent card comparison, a transparent ranking methodology, and free tools - built so people can pick a credit, debit, or prepaid card on the merits, wherever they are.

We are an independent card comparison and cardholder education site. We help people find the credit, debit, or prepaid card that fits how they spend - through structured card data, hands-on research, and free tools, without paywalls or account requirements.

Why We Built This

Choosing a card is harder than it should be. Fees are scattered across product pages, APR and rewards terms are buried in the fine print, and marketing copy obscures what a card actually costs and what it actually gives you back. We built the site so people have one place to compare credit, debit, and prepaid cards side by side, learn the basics, and pick a card on the merits.

Our editorial focus is cost transparency and reading the fine print. We cover cards in the markets we serve and apply the same evaluation framework everywhere, so readers can compare cards on substance rather than marketing.

How We Operate

Editorial methodology

Card rankings are produced by our internal methodology. We review cards against published issuer terms, verify fees and rates against issuer disclosures, and document the application and account experience ourselves. Sponsored placements are labelled wherever they appear so readers can always tell paid and editorial content apart.

Published criteria

Our ranking criteria are public. The Methodology page explains every dimension we look at, how each is scored, and how the overall score is built. Every card on the site is evaluated against the same framework so readers can see exactly what is being compared.

Free tools for cardholders

The card calculators, the card-match quiz, the blog, and the glossary are all free to use. No account is needed and there are no paywalls. The tools are designed to support readers from their first card search through everyday decisions about fees, interest, and rewards.

What You Can Do on the Site

  • Compare cards on fees, APR, rewards, perks, and everyday usability across credit, debit, and prepaid.
  • Take the card-match quiz to surface cards that match your priorities - low cost, rewards, travel perks, or no foreign-transaction fees.
  • Use the calculators to see how interest and APR add up, how annual and foreign-transaction fees affect the real cost of a card, and how long a balance takes to clear.
  • Read explainers in the blog and glossary on topics like APR, foreign-transaction fees, rewards and cashback, welcome bonuses, and how card issuers make money.

Sponsorships and Advertising

We offer two types of commercial placement, both clearly labelled:

  • Sponsored card placements. Issuers may pay to appear in clearly labelled Sponsored Positions on comparison pages, category hubs, quiz results, and the homepage. Sponsored cards are visually distinct from organic results.
  • Display Advertising. We display advertisements on certain pages of the site, including comparison pages, content pages, and calculator tools. Display ads are visually distinct from editorial content and served on a per-market and per-language basis.

How we make money

We have three disclosed revenue streams:

  • Affiliate commissions. When you apply for a card through one of our links and are approved, we may earn a commission at no cost to you.
  • Sponsored placements. Issuers can pay for clearly labelled placements on our comparison pages.
  • Display Advertising. Display ads are served on comparison pages, content pages, and tool pages.

Our research process

How we review cards

We verify fees, APR, and rewards against each issuer's terms, then publish the scoring criteria so readers can review our work.

Every fee, verified

Fees, APR, and rewards are checked against each issuer's published terms before a card is listed.

Published methodology

Our scoring criteria are public - read the methodology and check our work.

Refreshed monthly

Fees, features, and rewards details are reviewed every month - no stale data.
