What is European Central Bank?
In short
The European Central Bank sets monetary policy for the euro area and supervises significant banks across the bloc.
The European Central Bank is the body that sets monetary policy for the euro area and supervises the largest banks in the bloc, so a customer at a significant bank sits under both a national authority and this one. It does not license everyday card accounts directly, so the licence on a specific product is the more useful thing to check. Cards and accounts from ING Germany, Millennium BCP, Nordea Gold, OP Financial Group and Snappi Bank sit with providers that operate in markets covered by its supervision. Fees, currency costs and deposit protection are still set per provider, so compare those before you pick.
