What is Rewards rate?
In short
What you earn back on spending, expressed as points, cash back or travel credit.
A rewards rate is the return a card gives you for spending, and it can be paid in points, cash back or credit toward a booking. The rate is the first thing to check, because the earning form decides how quickly it turns into value. Absa earns up to 2% cash back, while Ahlibank Qatar earns 1% cashback. AffinityPlus Credit Union pays MyPlus Rewards points instead, and Advanzia Bank concentrates its reward on bookings, where it pays 5% back on rental car bookings, 5% travel credit on bookings. Al Rajhi Bank pays points on both domestic and international spend, and more on the latter. A flat rate on all spending is easier to judge than points.
