What is Visa?

In short

Visa is the card network behind many debit, prepaid and credit cards, and its name points to where the card is accepted and how it is checked online.

Visa is a card network, not a bank. It does not lend money or hold your balance; the provider named on the card does. The network sets how the card is accepted at ATMs and shops and how online payments are checked. When a card name carries Visa, the card works wherever that network reaches. AffinityPlus Credit Union lists Visa Signature benefits, part of Visa Signature benefits. BCA Visa Flex takes universal Visa acceptance, contactless payments and one-time codes for online payments, all listed under Universal Visa acceptance, Online purchases at certified stores and Free statement (extrato) issuance. Access Bank Cards lists its Visa features under Interest free period of up to 40 days, Minimum monthly repayment of 15% of outstanding balance and Up to 50% of net monthly salary can be availed as credit limit.
