What is Card type?

In short

Whether a card draws on your own money in an account or on a line of credit.

Card type describes where the money comes from when you pay. A debit card spends money you already hold in your account, so the balance drops straight away. A credit card spends a line of credit that you repay later, usually with interest if you carry a balance. That difference decides what the card is good for and how exposed you are when cash runs short, which is why a card type is one of the first things to check before you apply. Among the cards here, 1st National Bank Saint Lucia is a debit card, as is debit from ABN AMRO Zakelijk.
