What is Currencies?

In short

How many different currencies a card or account can hold and pay out in.

A currency count is the number of different currencies a card or account can hold and pay out in, and it is the first thing to check if you receive money or spend in several countries. Holding a currency natively is different from converting into your home currency on the spot: a multi-currency account can hold balances in each currency and pay from them, which avoids a conversion, and therefore avoids a conversion fee on every purchase. The figures here differ a lot. Afriex supports 30 currencies, while Absa Kenya Multi-Currency Prepaid Card supports 14 and ACB Grenada Bank supports 2. Access Bank Cards and Access Bank Zambia Premium Elite each support 4. A narrow currency list still works for a single-currency trip, but it forces conversions whenever the account is used outside its own currency.
