What is Cashback rate?

In short

The share of spending paid back to you as credit, usually on selected payments or through a partner.

A cashback rate is the share of a payment that comes back to you as credit on a later transaction or statement, and it is the most direct reward because it does not depend on choosing a reward partner or redeeming points. Rates in this group range widely, from Airwallex at 2% and Alatau City Bank at 2.5% to Alif and Alif Bank, both at 10%. Cashback is often limited to particular payments, such as mobile wallets or a named merchant, so a high headline rate is worth less than a lower one that applies to everything you buy. If you do not spend in the category the rate covers, treat it as a reason to use the card more or not at all, and check the limits before counting it as income.
