What is Custody?

In short

Custody tells you who holds the crypto behind a card: the provider, or you.

Custody describes who holds the crypto assets behind a card. Under custody, a provider keeps the keys, which is simpler for everyday spending but means the balance sits with that company. Under self-custody you hold the keys yourself and the provider cannot move your coins. Baanx is the self-custody option in this group, with self custody. Alchemy Pay, Bit2Me, Bitazza Thailand and asterium are all listed as custodial, so check the key arrangement before you load a card you plan to spend from.
